Recording and Evidence of Periodic Training
When a professional passenger transport driver has undertaken a 7 hour module of JAUPT approved periodic training the JAUPT approved provider of the training will then register the completion of the periodic training by going to the Government Gateway website and gaining access, by personal user name and password, to the Driver CPC Registration database.
They will then enter the driving licence number of the delegate and once this has been recognised by the database the approved provider will enter confirmation that the delegate has undertaken a 7 hour module of periodic training and, once a fee of £8.75 (zero VAT) has been paid by the approved provider by either credit or debit card, a credit will be entered against the driving licence.
Once five credits (5 X 7 hours modules) have been entered by the JAUPT approved provider against a category D driving licence on the Driver CPC registration database (at a total cost of £43.75) a Driver Qualification Card (DQC) will be electronically produced and automatically sent out to the vocational driver.
The DQC is valid for five years. To renew the DQC the vocational driver will be required to undertake another 35 hours of periodic training and thereby gain five more credits on the Driver CPC database. This cycle of DQC and periodic training will continue throughout the working life of the licence holder.
The DQC will be the hard copy evidence that a driving licence holder has undertaken the required training. VOSA is the body that oversees and polices the DQC within Great Britain and all holders will be required to carry their card with them when at work and make it available, on request, to VOSA examiners. |
